Before I start writing a whole lot about what we expect and what we offer, I think it's natural to tell you a little about Fjellvann and what the situation is.
Hi 👋 My name is Daniel and I'm the general manager of Fjellvann, one of the people you'll be working closely with.
Fjellvann has existed for over 9 years, we are 2 employees and 3 permanent hired resources. With an increasing amount of assignments up to a level where we have to say no, it is time to increase our capacity. That's where you come in!
At the start of 2022, Solid Media, a marketing agency, came into ownership after several years of close collaboration. They are a solid (pun intended 😎 ) company with over 20 employees that we sit together with in Prinsens gate 22. So do not fear, you will see other faces than just mine.
We are now looking for a skilled developer who can help build Fjellvann further. What we need is a strong and independent "do-er" who can get things done and help increase the level of our deliveries.
Who I think you are
It's perhaps not surprising that we expect a few years of web development experience and that you feel comfortable building out designs that are handed over in multiple CMS. If you have relevant schooling and other relevant experience, that's just a bonus.
Because the goal of the appointment is to increase quality, it may be a good idea to give an impression of where we are today by looking at some of our projects.
When it comes to you as a person and your ambitions, we want to work with someone who is forward-thinking and wants to get better. We believe and hope you'll browse Youtube, Kode24 and other sites for inspiration or learn new tools to become a complete and forward-thinking web developer.
It becomes natural to think that you want more responsibility than just being given a list of things to do. You should be a person who is not only able to be assigned responsibility, but also take it yourself and be proactive in seeing opportunities.
Your autopilot when you don't know how to solve something should be to google and find alternatives to how something can be solved, even if it's a "gaffa tip" solution in the worst case scenario.

What will it be like to work at Fjellvann?
Work tasks, responsibilities, routines, working hours, flexibility in terms of working from home, etc. are things you will be able to help shape and develop in the way that best suits us as a team.
Common tasks
This is the core of what you'll be doing, while there will always be some other tasks that aren't mentioned.
- Be involved in planning projects, e.g. wireframes and ideas for functionality.
- Dialogue with the project manager and designer regarding potential pitfalls in the design phase.
- Participate in customer meetings and dialog during the project.
- Dialogue with internal and external resources.
- Maintenance, changes and upgrades to existing customers' websites.
- Help develop our delivery and expertise.
- Contribute to increased professional knowledge internally.
- Testing and troubleshooting.
- Various work and problem solving in WordPress, other systems and publishing solutions.
Necessary skills
These are the skills we expect you to already have.
- Independent and proficient in HTML, CSS, Javascript and PHP.
- Good knowledge of React and Next.js is preferred.
- Headless CMS, preferably Sanity
- Expertise in Sanity and WordPress.
- GIT, CI/CD
- Basic hosting and infrastructure
- Good understanding of SEO and UU.
Other tasks/skills
These are the kind of tasks or skills that are great if you already know/have them. These are considered a big bonus.
- Layout of websites in no-code tools.
- More than basic SQL skills
- Webflow, CraftCMS, Umbraco or other relevant CMS.
- Headless eCommerce with Shopify API
- Web animation and interactions
- In-depth expertise on hosting and infrastructure
- SSH/CLI
- Typescript, Tailwind, Vue.js, Angular, Svelte. Node.js or similar.
- Banking expertise
- General automation and no-code in tools like Zapier, Make, Airtable etc. Is a big bonus.
