What is branding?

Good branding is about standing out in all channels. There should be no doubt about who you are, what you offer and why people should choose you.

Branding is the sum of all the actions and activities you take to strengthen your company's reputation. These actions can be related to the product or service you offer and how you offer it. Branding is about building the right associations with your brand so that your target audience associates you with something positive and useful. What do you want your target audience to think and feel when they see your logo? How can you give them that little bit extra to make them choose you over your competitors? The goal here is not only to make them remember you, but also to make them want to choose you.

Examples of branding

There are many ways to build brands, and one example is messaging. To choose an effective message, you need to prioritize; what's most important and what do we want to get across? It's tempting to say everything, but that won't get you very far. With your message, you need to be known for something that the others don't have.

Big brands have integrated emotional values into their brand. Their products can give you a sense of status, success or security, for example. This adds value to the brand, which in turn allows them to charge more.
