IP address

IP stands for "Internet Protocol," and an IP address is a unique identifier assigned to devices connected to a computer network, such as the internet. You can think of it as a kind of address for your device on the web.

You may have noticed that IP addresses are made up of numbers and periods. They may look a little incomprehensible at first glance, but they are actually very useful. Let me give you an example to make it easier to understand:

Let's say you're looking to send a package to a friend. You need to know the exact address of this person in order for the package to arrive at the right place. An IP address works in the same way. When you want to send or receive data over the internet, you need to know the IP address of the device you want to communicate with.

For example, the IP address of a website could be something like "192.0.2.100". When you type this address into your browser, your request is sent to that specific website. Similarly, you get a response back from the website you visit.

An IP address can be dynamic or static. A dynamic IP address is temporarily assigned to a service provider every time you connect to the internet. This means that every time you turn on your device, you get a new IP address. On the other hand, a static IP address is fixed and remains the same over time. It is often used by businesses that need a reliable and constant connection.

In short, we can say that an IP address is simply a unique identifier used to find devices on the internet.
