What is a pixel?

Well, a pixel is the very smallest unit that makes up a digital image. These tiny units are also often referred to as picture elements or pixels. Pixels are colorful dots or squares of varying sizes that indicate the intensity of an image. Think of them as the basic building blocks of a digital image.

Here's what's really exciting: In order to create a complete image, you have to combine an incredible number of pixels. This is interesting, because the more pixels we have, the better the image quality and sharpness of the image. In other words, image quality is directly related to the number of pixels. That's why we often say that a poor quality image is pixelated, because you can see the pixels that make up the image.

Wondering why the image is blurred or pixelated? To check this, you need to take a look at the resolution, which tells you something about the sharpness of the image. You can easily measure this by counting the number of pixels in width and height. As mentioned earlier, the more pixels, the better the image.
