What is server hosting?
Server hosting is not the same as web hosting or web hosting, although there are fine lines where they overlap. But if we want to be really picky, it would be correct to say that a "server host" that provides server hosting only stores and runs the server on its premises. Of course, most offer a little more than this, but not always.

Managed or unmanaged server hosting?
Server hosting is divided into "managed" and "unmanaged", which in short means that the provider must do more than just have it on their premises and keep it up and running technically or not. If you're reading this article, we can say with 99% certainty that you should be using a managed solution, and maybe you shouldn't be either.
Sometimes it may be just as well to have an agency or operating company take care of that too. In the simplest cases, a shared web host may even be the right solution.

Note that if in doubt, you should make sure you have a technical person internally who is familiar with this, or an agency or IT partner who can help you with the choice. The wrong choice of server hosting can be a major headache.
