What is a web browser?
A web browser, also known as a "browser" in English, is a piece of software that allows you to access content available on the Internet.
Browsers are available on a variety of devices, such as computers, phones, tablets, and come in many different flavors. Some of the most well-known browsers include Safari, Chrome, Edge, Internet Explorer, FireFox and Opera.
So what is the purpose of a browser? All content found on the internet today is built using different types of hypertext format (HTML codes), CSS files and JavaScript. These codes define how different elements such as text, images, videos or animations are displayed and placed on a website. The browser's main task is to interpret these codes so that you as a user get a visual and interactive representation of the website.
Which browser am I using?
Not sure which browser you are using? You can easily find out by hovering over the browser application and the name of the browser will be displayed. Most browsers also have a recognizable icon that makes it easy to identify them. However, if you are unsure which version of the browser you are using, you can click on the browser name at the top of the menu and then select "About this app". Here you will find information about the specific version of the browser you are running.
